Precise Tuning

Hardly anyone tunes by ear anymore (aural tuning). The trained human ear can be very accurate and is a traditional alternative to computer tuning. Aural tuning is D.W. McKee’s stock in trade and many players request this whenever possible due to being more accurate on the low and high ends.

For regular players or those who are professionals, we recommend having your piano tuned twice a year.

Repairs

Taking your piano in for repairs can be cost prohibitive and can be a real pain, sometimes literally. Let us come to your home or studio and service or repair your piano to get it to maximum playability.

Care Tips for Your Piano

• Keep your piano away from heat sources (heaters, registers, direct sunlight, etc.). Temperature fluctuations not only wreak havoc on tuning, but can stress the strings and wood of your piano.
• Don’t use furniture polish on your piano. Furniture polish can soften the finish and contaminate the wood. We carry specialized polish for this purpose.
• Keep drinks and liquids away from the piano. An accidental spill on the keys can not only damage the finish, but cause irreversible damage to the inner mechanics.

We carry Cory Piano Polish and Dampp Chaser Piano Humidifiers/Dehumidifiers that will extend the lifespan of your piano and keep your piano in tune longer. Piano-Glo is another great product we offer that not only cleans the surface of pianos from contaminants, but will nourish and preserve the moisture balance of the finish to prevent it from drying out or cracking.
